Purchase Manager

As one of the leading organic whole food companies in Europe, Lovenature Superfoods is looking for a Purchase Manager able to negotiate on behalf of our company, and someone who is eager to be part of a fast-growing innovative organic food business.

We are looking for a candidate that believes in the values of organic food, human connection, and excellence, and wants to be part of an incredible company that is making a difference in the world.

This current year our target is to reach 4,500 metric tones in sales on our bulk organic ingredients, and our goal is to reach 23,500 metric tones per year by 2022.

​

We want a candidate that wants to be part of making organic ingredients more widely available and more affordable in the market whilst creating alliances that put the needs of the farmers at the forefront.

​

The candidate would ideally be able to speak Spanish in order to have proficient communication and build stronger relationships with producers from South America.

​

As our Procurement/Purchase Manager, you will have full responsibility for raw materials for the group, optimising cost, quality, and service.

​

You will work closely with our Quality Department and Commercial Department to help to channel the right information and needs in real-time, creating a fast and effective turnaround of the fulfillment of the ingredients from the source to our client's warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership, validate and implement the purchasing strategies for the raw materials.

  • Coordinate the projects that have been assigned to you in close collaboration with the different departments.

  • Selecting producers with the potential of growth, organic, fair trading values, and code of ethics that align with Lovenature Superfoods vision.

  • Communicate with our Quality and Commercial team to effectively build the case for each required purchase.

  • Prospect and propose the best possible producer(s) for the material in question who align with our present and future needs.

  • Negotiate the best possible terms for the raw materials.

  • Advise the business in the case of non-conforming producers.

  • Support the core team to ensure an adequate supply of raw material at the best possible conditions.

  • You will be aware of new market trends within our industry and will report about new upcoming opportunities.

Skills & Experience:

  • You must be a great team player

  • A person who posses excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Proven experience liaising with suppliers and working in the food industry

  • You must have some level of Spanish either written or spoken

​

Requirements:

  • A degree in Purchasing, Business or Economics or any other relevant discipline is preferred, but not essential. You may hold the equivalent level by experience.

  • Procurement experience as a senior buyer/purchasing manager within an FMCG capacity.

Salary & Job Information:

The successful Procurement/Purchase candidate will enjoy having a basic salary and the possibility to have share participation in the company through various options.

 

The company is UK base; however, our team is spread through various EU countries so you will be able to work remotely from day one and be part of regular online/phone meetings. As mentioned earlier, communication is essential so you will need to prove that this is something you are comfortable with. Given the nature of the role, negotiation is going to be a key feature. You must be comfortable and capable of negotiating with a range of suppliers from around the world.
